BIM Project Management

End-to-end project coordination, model management, and stakeholder collaboration to ensure BIM success on your projects.

BIM Project Management Services

Someone Named, for the Information

Projects rarely fail because a model was badly built. They fail because no one owned the federated model, the issue log was rebuilt every week, and handover data was assembled in the last month. We take the information management role: the federation cycle, the CDE states, the delivery plan and the issue log, run the same way every round.

You get a status you can act on — open issues by task team, model health against the BEP, and any milestone at risk with the reason. Acceptance stays with you, and design authority stays with your professionals of record.

Management Services

The information management work that keeps a multi-team project answerable.

Model & Information Management

Someone has to own the federated model, the naming and the states in the CDE. On most projects nobody is named, and the model quietly drifts.

Federated model assembly on a fixed cycle
Information container naming and status control
Work in progress, shared and published states
Origin, level and grid verification each round
Workset and model-split discipline
Model health monitoring against the BEP

Coordination Meetings & Issue Tracking

We chair the coordination cycle and keep the issue log honest, so a meeting produces owners and dates rather than a fresh screenshot folder.

Clash matrix and tolerances agreed per pair
Agenda built from the open issue log
BCF exchange with each task team
Issue ownership, priority and due date
Re-test each cycle with an auditable history
Escalation route when an issue stalls
Coordination Meetings & Issue Tracking

Deliverable & Milestone Control

The information delivery plan tracked against what has actually been produced, so a milestone is either met or reported as at risk in time to act.

Information delivery plan maintained live
LOD verified against the BIMForum matrix
Pre-issue model audit before each milestone
Exchange format and export testing
Acceptance criteria checked before sign-off
Status reported by task team, not in aggregate

Handover & Archiving

Handover fails when it is assembled at the end. We set the structure at the start and check against it all the way through.

Handover requirements mapped from the EIR
Asset and parameter data verified as it is added
COBie or client schedule export validation
Native and IFC archive sets assembled
Issue log and sign-off record retained
Archive structure your FM team can navigate

How a managed coordination cycle runs

The same sequence every round, so progress is comparable week to week rather than re-described.

Inputs and coordination scope

We collect the discipline models, the BEP, the clash matrix if you have one, and the tolerances that matter on this project. If no matrix exists, we propose one and you approve it.

Model federation

Discipline models are assembled into a federated model on a defined cycle, with origins, levels and grids verified so clashes are real rather than alignment artefacts.

Clash testing

Hard, soft and clearance tests run to the agreed matrix and tolerances, rather than one indiscriminate all-versus-all run that buries the real issues.

Triage and classification

Raw results are filtered into genuine issues, grouped by cause and assigned an owner and priority. You receive decisions to make, not a five-thousand-clash report.

Constructability review

Beyond geometry: access for installation, maintenance clearances, routing sense and sequencing problems a clash engine cannot see.

Issue rounds

Issues are exchanged as BCF or in your issue tracker, re-tested each cycle, and tracked to closure with an auditable history.

Sign-off

A zone is released only when its open issues are closed or formally accepted, recorded against the agreed acceptance criteria.

Coordination record

Federated model, issue log, clash reports and the sign-off record, issued into your CDE.

What you actually get

How this differs from a weekly status deck assembled the night before.

Reviewed by a registered architect

Aercon is architect-led — a registered architect oversees delivery, so your model is questioned on design and constructability, not only geometry. Sealing and professional responsibility stay with your professionals of record.

A clash matrix, not an all-versus-all run

Tests are defined per discipline pair with agreed tolerances. An indiscriminate run produces thousands of results and hides the handful that matter.

Constructability, not just geometry

We look at installation access, maintenance clearance, routing sense and sequencing — the problems a clash engine cannot see and site finds first.

Issues tracked to closure

Every issue is classified, owned, exchanged as BCF or in your tracker, and re-tested each cycle with an auditable history rather than a fresh report each week.

A QA record, not a QA claim

Three gates before anything leaves: modeller self-check, an independent reviewer who did not build it, then lead sign-off. The signed checklist ships with the deliverable.

Your drawings stay yours

NDA before we receive anything, access limited to the named project team, and we never reuse a client's models, families or drawings for anyone else.

Frequently Asked Questions

Coordination is the clash and constructability cycle on a federated model. Project management wraps around it: who owns each information container, whether the delivery plan is being met, whether the CDE states mean anything, and whether handover data is being built as you go. You can buy coordination alone; management without coordination underneath it is reporting.

Either. Where you have a BIM lead we take the production management load — federation cycles, issue log, milestone checks — and report to them. Where the role is vacant we can carry it for the duration of a project. In both cases the authority to accept or reject a deliverable stays with your team, and we say so in the scope.

We work in the CDE you already use: Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM 360, SharePoint-based environments or a client-hosted system. Federation and clash testing run in Navisworks or Solibri, and issues are exchanged as BCF so no task team is forced onto a platform licence they do not hold.

Every issue gets an owner, a priority and a due date at the point it is raised, and is exchanged as BCF against a model element rather than described in an email. It is re-tested on the next federation cycle. The log carries its full history, so at sign-off you can show when an issue was raised, who closed it and against which model revision.

A short status against the information delivery plan on each coordination cycle: open issues by task team and priority, model health findings, and any milestone now at risk with the reason. We report by task team rather than as a single project percentage, because an aggregate figure hides the one discipline that is behind.

Your professionals of record. We manage information, run the coordination process and report findings, including where a model does not meet the BEP. We do not seal, stamp or certify drawings or models, and we do not make design decisions on your behalf. Where a coordination issue needs a design judgement, it is escalated to the responsible designer in writing.
